I have heard many 'jokes' recently stating roughly along the lines that 'I bet your mum didn't love you and gave you up for adoption'.
Just to clear things up... most situations are not like this.
You are not given up for adoption because your mum doesn't love you... but its the exact opposite.
The mother loves you so much that she thinks someone else will be able to looke after you better than she. I know my birth mother loves me and she is waiting for when I turn 18 and can get to know her. I want to become her friend and understand the pain she went through.
